Transformation

Sunday, April 3rd, 2011

I have spent the majority of my life healing myself in one form or another. My twenties were spent doing every kind of physical activity that came on the market. My thirties were more about my eating habits and trying different healing techniques. Now in my forties it is about fine tuning what I’ve learned not only about my diet and exercise routine but through my healing practice. Everything I have learned during every aspect of my life is coming together at this very moment and being transformed! I have been manifesting, and waiting for this pinnacle moment to happen. It is so exhilarating!

I do remember not so long ago, sitting day after day in limbo wondering what was I going to do with my life. What was my purpose? I do the work I do, because of that confusion, because I want to be available to help others find their purpose, no matter what that looks like at the time. You may think my healing techniques have changed, but they have just progressed into something less physical, into something more mental, emotional, and spiritual. There are so many ways to heal. It really is about what works for you at the time, because we are always in transition.

Check out my website, you will find a transformation happening there too.  www.healingpossibilities.com

My Year

Wednesday, January 26th, 2011

It was quite a few years ago that looking at my accomplishments of the past year was bothersome. My main goal was to just make it through the year! It hadn’t always been like that but at the time I had little children and we tended to move for my husband’s work about every sixteen months.  With so much activity I never had time to think past setting up house and getting the kids involved in some activity before we were off and gone to the next location. Ten years ago things changed when after nine years, two kids, five moves within three countries, and learning two different cultures, we moved back to my home town, unexpectedly. Because of the familiarity, there was little for me to do to get all of us organized. I was now able to start doing things for myself. To start I joined a meditation and yoga class. My brain now had available space to think of goals I wanted to achieve! With goals, change came hand over fist! The goals were small to start, making them very achievable. Over the years they have become more complicated, but not any less achievable. Very few of us learn to walk before we crawl, but running then comes naturally! What has been really lovely is with each change, other changes occur that I did not expect and mostly in a positive way. Pick goals that are dear to your heart. Write them down like you have already achieved them. “I love the fact that in 2011 I accomplished…” Within your mind anything is possible, so make it a reality!

Up Coming Workshops

Monday, December 13th, 2010

I’m offering this new workshop called “Learn the Basics” the weekend of March 12 & 13th. If you attend you will start to learn how to heal your present self.  This workshop will help you understand the seven chakras, the dysfunction in each, and how to correct that imbalance by using crystals, food, aromatherapy, and various other tools. We will discuss how everything has a frequency level and how that affects the frequency level in your own body. Do you ever feel great one day and lousy the next? You will find out how to correct this. A couple of meditative exercises will be included in this two-day class, allowing you to really gain a better understand of yourself and your healing process.

I will also be teaching a new class called “Heal the Healer” on April 2nd. If you are a healer or plan on becoming a healer this class is for you. It is very important to know our boundaries and this will help you stay as healthy as possible to continue doing your work. Too often we give too much of ourselves and feel depleted even after one or two sessions. Learn the secret to finishing your day as fresh as you started! This will help change things in other areas of your life as well.

Joint Pain or Mobility Restrictions?

Sunday, November 14th, 2010

Joints are one of my most favorite things to work on, other than fractures. Believe it or not, bones are malleable. Working a set bone from a break is very rewarding. I can feel the bone lengthen, and eventually straighten back into its original form. Most clients respond with, “It’s been so long since it felt normal!” This can be done with a cast in place or 30 years after the fact! With time and use joints can get twisted, tendons can shorten, and muscles are no longer symmetrical. Perhaps your joint is damaged from an injury. All this can affect the joint by causing undo stress, pinched nerves, and/or limited mobility. For example, tennis elbow can be corrected by working the skin, fascia, nerves, tendons, muscles, and bones. The process allows for the tissue to rearrange itself and eventually move back into its “normal” state. The result is less tension in the joint allowing more flexibility and mobility throughout the entire arm. You will even notice a difference in the amount of strength you now have in your arm and shoulder.

Neural Manipulation

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

Neural Manipulation is a hands-on treatment that identifies and releases local nerve restrictions. During the examination once the restriction is located, further issues within the body can be found and released.  This gentle and precise work is very cool for the practitioner – me, and has amazing results for the client – you! Common examples of restricted nerve damage are Carpel Tunnel Syndrome and Sciatica. Nerve damage can also appear after an accident or injury, whether minor to sever. It can also develop from repetitive motion or incorrect posture. The nerve in some way has been compromised, affected by friction, over stretched or received excess pressure. Some nerves can repair themselves with time; others can trouble us for years. The restricted nerve can cause problems in other locations of the body, not only in the place of the restriction. One reason is the artery runs along side the nerve so the blood supply can affect the body’s circulation. Referred pain can also be an issue. Immobility can cause postural changes making the body compensate therefore causing an issue else where in the body.  Whether the structure involved includes fascia, joint, viscera, brain or peripheral nerve, Neural Manipulation can help.  Neck or shoulder problem? This is for you!

Body/Mind Connection

Monday, July 26th, 2010

The body/mind connection is a very interesting concept, although a little bit hard to assimilate all at once. Most people realize how powerful the mind can be. It can give us the strength to get our dream job. If we use it to repeatedly beat ourselves up, we’ll eventually feel inadequate, tired, and depressed… Most people recognize the power of manifestation, the material, mental, and physical benefits of being positive. By contrast, negative thoughts can ruin our day and affect our physical body. In my mind, I kept re-living all the terrible things I did when I was in my teens and early 20’s. When I let go of those thoughts and forgave the people involved including myself, I freed my knees of physical pain. That was the beginning of an amazing transition for me!! What other “stuff” could I let go of, what else would feel good?! Different negative repetitive thought patterns affect different areas of our body. They can cause our migraines, broken bones, stiff necks, allergies, digestive issues, cancer…the list goes on. Sometimes one (forgotten) issue gets lodged in our cells and causes havoc for years to come…until we let it go. The work I do can help release your ‘stuff’…are you ready?

Meditation

Monday, July 12th, 2010

To meditate it is best to find a quite place to sit, either cross-legged on the floor, or on the edge of a chair. If your feet do not touch the floor use a pillow under your feet to anchor you to the floor. It’s very important that your back stays straight in order for the energy to flow.

Next you need to ground yourself. With your eyes closed, visualize a solid metal pole starting mid-back. See it growing down your spine, out your base chakra (located between your anus and genitals), visualize it going through the different levels - your floor, the basement, cement foundation, layers of sand, rock, lava, until it connects to the red core at the center of the earth. Once secure, follow the pole back up through all the layers until you reach mid-back. Now see that metal pole turn into white light and work its way up through the crown chakra (top of your head), out the roof of your home, into infinity. Visually follow the beam of light back into your body. You may feel a pull, allow it to happen until you align up and down. You can work on quieting your mind by listening to music (without words) or counting your breathe, into your belly and chest, 4 in 4 out. Repeating a mantra works well too, “I feel love,” “I’m at peace,” “I give thanks for all I have.” Placing the tip of your tongue behind your teeth and thumb to finger will strengthen the bond. Eventually just sitting in that spot will put you automatically into a meditation and quieting your mind will get easier. Because of this it is important to not your living room sofa or your bed. You don’t want to sit down with company and go into a meditation, neither do you want to meditate all night when you want to sleep.Meditation will become the best part of your day.

Migraines

Sunday, June 6th, 2010

People with migraines resulting from whiplash or head injuries have found significant relief after receiving a CranioSacral treatment. Considerable attention is given to the head, or cranial bones. Occasionally it only takes a slight adjustment to correct the problem. Most often several appointments are necessary to correct and balance all bones involved. In doing so any restrictions that have stopped the cerebral spinal fluid (CSF) from flowing freely around the brain and down the spine are now release. CSF helps remove toxins promptly from your system. The lack of fluid flowing, dehydration, causes headaches. If your headache is a result of dental work or TMJ disorder, CranioSacral works very well in resolving these problems. In addition to working the cranial bones, light tissue work is done in the mouth releasing tension and stress. It is also beneficial for people suffering from sinus problems, Chinook headaches, or have/had a concussion. Occasionally clients have cranial bones stuck since birth, causing a whole array of other issues. This happens when a pregnancy or birth has been especially difficult or forceps have been used. The bones in the head overlap, this issue can also be corrected. Relief can be found at any age, you will be amazed at what can transpire!
